I thought it was very inspirational that although Madison only has an arm and a half, she doesn't let it stop her doing what she loves. She has a passion for volleyball and it's awesome being able to participate even when she has a huge disadvantage.

In the beginning of the video clip, it was interesting that the camera only focused on tight shots above her arms, because they didn't want to give it away that she only has one arm. Interview shots were on third. I noticed a sequence between her playing volleyball, and her participating in the classroom.

A-Roll - anything in the story that you hear. ex: interviews
Segues
Reporter voice overs

Natural Sound

B-Roll - video footage that compliments the story

2. On page 23 it discusses the differences between print journalism and broadcast journalism.  Please describe 3 ways they are different and explain.
Print Journalism provides more information than Broadcast Journalism would. -When 911 happened, there was limited news on TV, but if you were to Google "911" many detailed stories would be available to read.
Broadcast Journalism is a more timely way to get information across to people. -It is easier to announce something on the radio or TV rather than the internet because people aren't always going to be on the internet waiting for breaking news articles to be published.
Broadcast Journalism has a limited amount of information. -They can only say so much, without dragging the story out.

3.  List all the criteria the story we watched at the beginning of class fits under and why.
Unusualness, because it's not very often that there's a crash and pigs end up roaming around the road.
Significance, because it's an event that may affect people driving on that road.
Timeliness, because people want to hear about while it's happening so they can avoid that road.
Proximity, because it's a nearby event for many people.
Human Interest, because it's a story about pigs that are blocking the road. It draws people's attention to the story because it's not something that happens very often.

4.  List all the criteria the 2nd story we watched fits under and why.
Unusualness, because one dog can't hear, one dog can't see.
Human Interest, because it was a heartwarming story about two dogs that need to stick together, because one of them is blind.
Timeliness, because they are looking for a home for the dogs.

5.  List all the criteria the 3rd story we watched fits under and why.
Timeliness, because people want to hear about the awards as they're given, not years later when it's history.
Prominence, because many celebrities won awards.
Human Interest, because people are interested in watching their favorite celebrities winning awards.

Brittney moved to Minnesota from Fargo, North Dakota when she was only 10 years old. Moving to Minnesota has been an experience that has changed her life. Brittney said that if she wouldn't have moved to Minnesota she thinks her life would be way different than it turned out to be. Since she had no choice but to move here, she knew it was time to be independent and use her personality to her advantage. Brittney’s only option was to arrive to Minnesota with confidence, and to be the outgoing person she was back in North Dakota. When she came to Minnesota, she did exactly what she hoped to do. Although it was probably a little nerve wrecking, she knew she needed to step out of her comfort zone. She applied and got a job at Doolittle’s, which she is very proud of. She also met many new friends. Brittney explained how hanging out with her friends make her the happiest. She also said her friends would describe her as confident and outgoing. Brittney accomplished her goal, she brought her outgoing personality and confidence to Minnesota and also stepped out of her comfort zone. She learned that sometimes you have to  step out of your comfort zone in order to be successful. Overall, moving from Fargo to Minnesota was a great experience that changed her life for the better.
